It is February and it finally snowed here in Amherst. Generally we have snow by Christmas and substantial accumulation by now, but not this year. Up until now we have only had a couple of one inch dustings. Yesterday's was only about 4" but it was enough to have to shovel and plow so it counts. This is the first time I have seen my new yard and gardens covered in snow. Not as beautiful as in full bloom, but pretty in its own way. There was a gorgeous bright red Cardinal flitting around but he wouldn't let me close enough to get a good pic. Too bad.
