"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life."
Our sweet, 4 year old Maine Coon, Surely, lost her battle with lymphoma today. Surely -- You were a good kitty and we loved you lots! We all miss you. Rest well sweet one.
What a beautiful girl! I'm sorry to hear about your loss. It's always sad to lose a loved fur one especially when they are that young. I lost my persian when she was 5 to heart failure.
Oh, a gorgeous cat, and I know you're hurting. David, at Leave Me Alone I'm Digging recently lost his body, if you're looking to commiserate; his post was tear-wrenching, so maybe NOT the best way to go. http://leavemealoneimdigging.blogspot.com/2008/04/champ-1997-2008.html
I'm sorry to hear about your loss. It's always hard to lose a furry friend. Our oldest, Pity Patty at 18 is about to go. We're torn right now about what to do. It's painful to watch her move, she can hardly get up and around. I don't have the heart to put her to sleep when she is still happy to sit on our laps and purr. The time may come very soon but we try not to think about it.
I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Surely. We have gone through the loss of two of our beautiful Calicos in the last two years. It seems you have a lump in your throat forever when this happens. There is such a deep rooted connection with our little loves. I miss mine all the time and yet find such comfort and happiness in my two little ones here and now. I hope the grief will begin to ease up a bit .. I know it takes so long, but it is a life long memory of a beautiful little soul to keep within you. Joy
Oh, Carol, I'm so very sorry...you mentioned Surely's illness only week or so back, and i've been away and well behind in blog reading, so only found this post this morning. It's so hard to lose someone we love, and people who don't share a love for animals don't always understand that the animals in our lives are family members and much cherished. I hope you are being gentle with yourself in these sad days.
Located in Western Massachusetts, I am a college instructor and Associate Director of Community Service Learning at UMass Amherst. In addition, I am an artist of the garden and home including: designing, creating, implementing and up-cycling for interior and exterior spaces. My work often includes assemblage with altered, recycled and found objects. For me, the hunt for materials is a huge part of the creative process. I am married and have grown children: a daughter and son-in-law and a son and daughter-in-law. I have two dogs, Chloe and Mia and 2 cats, Arthur and Merci. All of our pets are rescues. The most recent arrival is from an awesome rescue in Tennessee, A Place to Bark - google it!

I am so sorry about your kitty!
Condolences on your kitty, Surely. Caught my eye as we had a cat by the same name, and one named "Maybe" as well.
Beautiful gardens.
Best to you.
